The Surf Captain Gulf Coast forecast locations have been reconfigured providing more granular locations. We've taken the Florida West Coast and Panhandle Coast from 15 to 25 locations, Alabama from 1 to 3 locations, and Texas from 5 to 7 locations. The full list of Gulf Coast locations are listed below.
One note. We often get requests to add specific surf spots. While sometimes it does make sense to forecast for a particular surf spot, we often aim to give generalized forecasts for a local region. A good example of this is our forecast for the North Shore of Oahu. We don't provide a specific Pipeline or Sunset Beach forecast, but a generalized forecast for the average to better spots in the region. We think that the need for local knowledge will never go away, and that providing a generalized local forecast is better than incorporating the error involved in nailing down a spot specific forecast.
